People Are Sharing How They Accidentally Went Viral Online (and It Is Worse Than You Think)

With the social media apps intertwined, going viral is very easy now. You probably won’t even have to do anything special, a lot of people are just their usual selves on the internet, and they still go viral. But what if you don’t want to go viral but end up on everyone’s phone anyways? And what comes after “viral” fame? Let’s hear it from people who have seen it

People Share Their Experience of Getting Viral

  • The Dentist Routine Person

TikTok user kassandraannw posted a video of her husband’s dental hygiene on the app, becoming her ticket to becoming viral. She received thousands of comments, most of them being trolls. Some people commented about how nice her bathroom is, but most comments were full of trolling and jokes. And that triggered her anxiety. According to her, it got so bad that she couldn’t open TikTok because of the anxiety.

  • The Brie Larson Defender

Everyone knows the amount of hate Brie Larson got (and still gets) after her role as Captain Marvel. The hatred was relentless, but there were some good souls too. One of them, user larsonsphoenix made a half-joking tweet defending Brie on her account. She became a viral persona. Her tweet got 55,000 retweets, almost 200,000 likes, and 1,000 overwhelming replies.

But that’s not the worst part. The worst part is she got death threats in her Twitter messages for almost a month. She still uses her Twitter account.

  • The Tumblr Pick

No list is complete without someone from Tumblr making it to the list for exciting reasons. According to her, user jconway went viral on Tumblr for making some incredibly “cringe” jokes. When she got hired for her job, her manager recognized her from the post.

Though she didn’t get cyber bullied, she didn’t know about her manager recognizing her until her last day at work. She says she preferred to be known for something other than her Tumblr posts.

  • Asking the Deep Questions

User jac21 went viral for making a TikTok with some cool tapes, which got over one million views. But according to the user, his videos barely get 100 views, which has left them questioning the point of getting viral. No monetization happens for having only one video with many views, so that is out of the question. And then there are the “fans.” Are they disappointing their fans? Do they even have any fans?

These are the questions jac21 has been asking. So far, they haven’t found any solid answers, but the journey continues.
